Scratched Coins
Hello, I bought some silver Buffalo coins from ebay. They were advertised as "Brand New" but most are scratched.
http://img253.imageshack.us/my.php?i...0147likvo8.jpg http://img149.imageshack.us/my.php?i...0155likif3.jpg I asked for an exchange but he said return them for a refund. Who knows if shipping will be reimbursed. The price of silver went up so I'm looking to make a profit and avoid potential losses. What do I do? Will the scratches affect the resale price? |
Re: Scratched Coins
Were they close to spot price? Bullion coins get easily dinged, and it might be smart just to hold onto them.
Sorry, to hear about the deal. I usually go through APMEX, and have had no problems with damaged coins. Welcome to GIM, jung! :15_1_70v: |
Re: Scratched Coins
Just hold on to them, they don't have a big collectable value anyway.
It's not worth the hassle to send them back. |
Re: Scratched Coins
FYI: I just got a bunch of Buffalos from APMEX, and even the 'new' coins had some wear on them. Nothing major, but they looked handled.
Silver is silver. Unless they're scratched enough to remove measurable silver, I wouldnt sweat it. |
Re: Scratched Coins
was the seller deceptive?

Re: Scratched Coins
I wouldn't bother with it myself and just keep it. Wouldn't be worth fooling with.
